Recipe: Performing VPC Selected Item Restore

Expected deliverables:

Restore only specific items of the Amazon VPC configuration from a VPC configuration backup

Time to complete: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

Before you start: Restore to a new location is not supported for Client VPN endpoints and Customer gateways and load balancer listeners that use authentication certificates.

Assumptions: You have an existing Veeam Backup for AWS deployment,

Method:

  1. Login the Veeam Backup for AWS web interface.
  2. Navigate to Protected Data > VPC. Select an AWS Region whose VPC configuration you want to restore, and click Restore > Selected Items.
  3. At the Restore List step, select VPC configuration items you want to restore and a restore point that will be used to restore the selected items.
  4. At the Account step, choose whether you want to use an IAM role of an AWS account, an AWS account of an AWS Organization, or one-time access keys of an IAM user with enough privileges to perform the restore operation
  5. At the Reason step, specify a reason for restoring the VPC Configuration items. Click Next.
  6. At the Summary step, review summary information. Click Finish.
