Recipe: Adding a Database Account

Expected deliverables:

A new Database Account added to Veeam Backup for AWS, to be used when creating RDS Backup Policies.

Time to complete: 2 minutes

Ingredients:

• Access to Veeam Backup for AWS appliance using a browser

Assumptions: You have an existing Veeam Backup for AWS deployment.

Method:

1. In a web browser, navigate to the Veeam Backup for AWS appliance web address.
2. Click in Configuration in the upper-right corner, then navigate to Accounts > Database Accounts and then click in Add.
3. At the Account Info step, enter a Name and Description for the the database account.
4. At the General Setting specify credentials that the account will use to access databases protected by RDS Backup policies.
5. At the Summary step, review summary information and click Finish.
