Recipe: Veeam Backup and Replication integration

Add a Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure installation to Veeam Backup and Replication.

- Veeam Backup and Replication
- Microsoft Azure compute account
- Microsoft Azure storage account
Before you start: Microsoft Azure Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication extends the Veeam Backup & Replication functionality and provides access to Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure from the Veeam Backup & Replication console. Microsoft Azure Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication is built on top of Veeam Backup & Replication, and this guide assumes that you have a good understanding of this solution.
Assumptions: A working setup of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure and Veeam Backup & Replication. Your Microsoft Azure compute account and Microsoft Azure storage credentials must be added to Veeam Backup & Replication.
Method:
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication console and go the the Backup Infrastructure view.
- Right-click the Managed Servers node and select Add Server. In the Add Server window, select Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure.
- Select Connect to an existing appliance and click Next.
- Select your desired Microsoft Azure compute account and click Next.
- Select the Subscription and the Data Center region where your Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure instance is installed. Click Next.
- Click Browse and select your Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure instance, then click Next.
- Select Direct Connection and click Next.
- Click Add and enter your username and password for your Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure instance. Click OK and Next.
- Select each Repository and click Edit to provide the credentials for your storage account, add new credentials if none are present. Enter the password if your backups are encrypted. Click OK and click Next.
- Wait for the operations to finish. Click Next and Finish.
