Recipe: Adding Microsoft Azure Service Account

Expected deliverables:

The addition of new credentials to use the Azure archiver appliance.

Time to complete: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • The Microsoft Azure Service Account credentials.

Before you start:

Assumptions: You have an existing Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 installation.

Method:

  1. Open the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 interface.
  2. In the main menu, click “Manage Cloud Credentials”.
  3. Click “Add”, then “Microsoft Azure service account”.
  4. Select a Microsoft Azure region, enter a name that you want to use to register a new Azure AD application in your Azure Active Directory, and click “Install” to specify an SSL certificate (check the “Installing SSL Certificates” recipe for more information).
  5. Log in to your Microsoft 365 organization: click “Copy code” to copy the authentication code and click the Microsoft authentication portal link. In the browser, paste the code that you have copied then sign in to Microsoft Azure.
  6. When done, select the check boxes next to Microsoft Azure subscriptions in the list, then click “Finish”.
