Recipe: Adding Restore Operator Role
Expected deliverables:
The addition of a Restore operator allowed to explore and restore data from backups created by Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 for specific organization object types
Time to complete: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- A configured Microsoft 365 Organization
- A user account for the configured Microsoft 365 organization
- Valid SharePoint backup data
Before you start: You can add restore operator roles for users and groups of Microsoft 365 organizations and hybrid organizations.
Assumptions: You have an existing Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 installation.
Method:
- Open the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 interface.
- In the main menu, click “Restore Operator Roles” and click “Add”.
- Enter a name and optional description for the restore operator role.
- Select an organization whose users or groups will act as restore operators.
- Click “Add” and select either Users or Groups, then select check boxes next to the users or groups that you want to act as restore operators, then click “Add”.
- Select either the entire organization or specific users, groups, sites, and teams Restore operators will be able to explore and restore backed-up data of.
- To select specifict objects, click “Add” and select one of the following options: Users, Groups, Sites, or Teams, then select check boxes next to the users, groups, sites, or teams, then click “Add”.
- In the same way, select objects to be excluded from Restore operators activity.
- When finished, click “Create” to complete the configuration.
