Expected deliverables:

Accessing the Veeam Host Management Console via browser to configure backup server or other backup infrastructure components deployed from Veeam appliances (Veeam Software Appliance and Veeam Infrastructure Appliance).

Time to complete: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • A working Veeam Software Appliance or Veeam Infrastructure Appliance.
  • A supported web browser with network access to the appliance over port 10443.
  • Credentials of a user account with either the Host Administrator or Security Officer role
  • If multi-factor authentication (MFA) is enabled, a mobile authenticator app (TOTP) for MFA enrollment.

Before you start:
The Veeam Host Management Console is served over HTTPS on port 10443.
If an administrator has enabled MFA, it is enrolled the first time you log in. For Security Officer, MFA is enabled by default.

Assumptions:

You know the hostname or IP address of the backup server.

Method:

  1. Open a web browser and go to https://[appliance-address]:10443.
  2. Accept the security certificate warning to continue to the sign-in page.
  3. Enter your username and password, then click Sign In.
  4. If you enabled multi-factor authentication (MFA) for the user, specify the confirmation code and click OK.
    • If MFA is enabled and not yet configured for your account, scan the on-screen QR code with your authenticator app (or enter the key manually), then enter the one-time password to confirm.
    • On subsequent logins, enter your username, password, and the current one-time password from your authenticator app.
