Recipe: Adding an HPE Morpheus VM Essentials Server to Veeam Infrastructure
Expected deliverables:
An HPE Morpheus VM Essentials server added to the Veeam backup infrastructure and ready to protect its VMs.
Time to complete: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- An HPE Morpheus VM Essentials server reachable from the Veeam Backup Server.
- Credentials of an administrator account with the System Admin role in the HPE Morpheus VM Essentials manager, added to the Credentials Manager.
- The HPE Morpheus VM Essentials Plug-in is installed with Veeam Backup & Replication (already included in V13).
Before you start:
The HPE Morpheus VM Essentials Plug-in is integrated with Veeam Backup & Replication; there is no separate backup appliance to deploy.
Assumptions:
You have a Veeam Backup and Replication server installed.
Method:
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication Console and select Backup Infrastructure.
- Select Managed Servers, click Add Server on the ribbon, then select Virtualization Platforms and choose HPE Morpheus VM Essentials.
- Specify the HPE Morpheus VM Essentials manager DNS name or IP address and a description. Click Next.
- At the Credentials step, from the Credentials list, specify credentials for an administrator account with the System Admin role. If you have not set up credentials beforehand, click the Manage accounts link or click Add on the right to add the credentials.
- Provide the Username and Password for the account that you want to add.
- Click OK to complete the account creation
- At the Credentials step, click in Next and click Continue to accept the server certificate.
- At the Snapshot Storage step, keep the default (largest available datastore) or select a specific datastore for VM snapshots. Click Next.
- At the Apply step, wait until Veeam adds the server. Click Next.
- At the Summary step, review the details and click Finish.
