Recipe: Enabling Four-Eyes Authorization
Expected deliverables:
Four-Eyes Authorization enabled, so that sensitive operations require approval from a second administrator.
Time to complete: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- A working Veeam Backup & Replication V13 server.
- At least two accounts with the Veeam Backup Administrator or Veeam Security Administrator role (one to request, one to approve).
Before you start:
When enabled, Four-Eyes Authorization requires a second administrator to approve sensitive operations such as deleting backups, removing repositories and managing users.
Assumptions:
You are signed in with an account that has the Veeam Backup Administrator or Veeam Security Administrator role.
Method:
- In the Veeam console, from the main menu select Users & Roles.
- Open the Authorization tab.
- Select the Require additional approval for sensitive operations check box.
- Specify the time period during which a requested operation must be approved or rejected, or keep the default (7 days).
- Click OK to save.
