Recipe: Enabling Four-Eyes Authorization

Expected deliverables:

Four-Eyes Authorization enabled, so that sensitive operations require approval from a second administrator.

Ingredients:

Before you start:

When enabled, Four-Eyes Authorization requires a second administrator to approve sensitive operations such as deleting backups, removing repositories and managing users.

Assumptions:

You are signed in with an account that has the Veeam Backup Administrator or Veeam Security Administrator role.

Method:

  1. In the Veeam console, from the main menu select Users & Roles.
  2. Open the Authorization tab.
  3. Select the Require additional approval for sensitive operations check box.
  4. Specify the time period during which a requested operation must be approved or rejected, or keep the default (7 days).
  5. Click OK to save.
