Recipe: Publish HPE Morpheus VM Disks

Expected deliverables:

Disks of a backed-up HPE Morpheus VM Essentials VM mounted to a server in read-only mode for instant access to their data.

Time to complete: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • An HPE Morpheus VM Essentials backup with at least one successfully created restore point.
  • A target server added to the backup infrastructure to which the disks will be mounted.

Assumptions:
You have a Veeam Backup and Replication server installed.

Method:

  1. Open the Veeam Backup & Replication Console and select Home on the bottom left menu.
  2. Select Backups in the inventory pane, expand the necessary backup job, right-click the VM that contains the disks you want to mount and select Publish disks.
  3. Select a restore point and click Next.
  4. Select the disks to publish and click Next.
  5. Select the target server to which they will be mounted. Click Next.
  6. In the Reason step, enter a reason and click Next.
  7. In the Summary step, review the details and click Finish. Access the mounted disks from the target server.
  8. When finished, select the session under the Instant Recovery node and click Stop Publishing to unmount the disks.
