Recipe: Deploying an HPE Morpheus VM Essentials Worker
Expected deliverables:
An HPE Morpheus VM Essentials worker deployed in the environment to move backup and restore data between HPE Morpheus VM Essentials and the backup repository.
Time to complete: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- An HPE Morpheus VM Essentials server added to the backup infrastructure.
- Storage on the server with enough capacity for the worker VM.
- A network with connectivity to the Veeam Backup Server and the backup repository.
Before you start:
It is recommended that workers are deployed on each node of HPE Morpheus VM Essentials clusters. Workers are Linux-based VMs deployed automatically by Veeam Backup & Replication; you do not need to build them manually.
Assumptions:
You have a Veeam Backup and Replication server.
Method:
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication Console and select Backup Infrastructure.
- Select Backup Proxies, then on the ribbon click Add Proxy and select HPE Morpheus VM Essentials worker
- At the Virtual Machine step,
- Select a cluster by clicking in Choose
- Specify a name for the worker.
- At the Datastore field, select the Datastore for the Worker to be deployed.
- Leave the other settings by default unless you need specific parameters, and click in Next
- At the Networks step,
- Click in Add to choose a network to which the worker VM will be connected. Keep the default IP assignment (DHCP) unless a static address is required
- Configure DNS Server or leave the default Obtain automatically
- Click Next.
- At the Summary step, review the details and click Finish to deploy the worker.
