Recipe: Create a Backup Copy Job for HPE StoreOnce Repositories
Expected deliverables:
A Backup Copy Job that mirrors backup files between HPE StoreOnce repositories using HPE StoreOnce Catalyst Copy.
Time to complete: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- A source and a target HPE StoreOnce backup repository (or Scale-Out Backup Repositories made of HPE StoreOnce repositories only, with Data locality placement policy).
- You need the source VM or Physical Server (Agent) has at least one restore point created by a Backup Job in the same Backup Server, to be copied with a Backup Copy Job.
Before you start:
This job mirrors data as stored in the source repository, without transformation, and copies only backup files created by jobs on the same backup server.
Log backups and imported backups are not copied. When the backup copy job for HPE StoreOnce runs for the first time, it copies all existing backup files. Then the backup copy job starts each time a new backup file appears in the source repository.
Assumptions:
You have a Veeam Backup and Replication server installed.
Method:
- On the Home tab, click Backup Copy and click Storage copy.
- At the Name step, specify a job name and description. Click Next.
- At the Storage Mapping step, click Add and select a Source backup repository and a Target backup repository (both must be HPE StoreOnce). Click OK, then Next.
- At the Settings step, specify retention settings and, if required, enable GFS for archival. Click Next.
- At the Schedule step, specify when the job is allowed to transfer data. By default the Job will run continously (Any time). Click Apply.
- At the Summary step, review details of the backup copy job. Select the Enable the job when I click Finish check box if required. Then click Finish to close the wizard
