Recipe: Publish Proxmox VE VM Disks
Expected deliverables:
Disks of a backed-up Proxmox VE VM mounted to a server in read-only mode for instant access to their data.
Time to complete: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- A Proxmox VE backup with at least one successfully created restore point.
- A target server added to the backup infrastructure to which the disks will be mounted.
Assumptions:
You have a Veeam Backup and Replication server installed.
Method:
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication Console and select Home on the bottom left menu.
- Select Backups in the inventory pane, expand the necessary backup job, right-click the VM that contains the disks you want to mount and select Publish disks.
- Select a restore point and click Next.
- Select the disks to publish and click Next.
- Select the target server to which they will be mounted. Click Next.
- In the Reason step, enter a reason and click Next.
- In the Summary step, review the details and click Finish. Access the mounted disks from the target server.
- When finished, select the session under the Instant Recovery node and click Stop Publishing to unmount the disks.
