Recipe: SOBR - Switching to Maintenance Mode

Expected deliverables:

A deactivated extend of the Scale-Out Backup Repository that restricts any read/write operation.

Time to complete: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

• An existing Scale-Out Backup Repository with more than 1 extent

Before you start:

If the performance extent is busy with any task, the Maintenance will be in pending state and will wait for the task to complete.

Assumptions:

It’s assumed that you already have a Veeam Backup Server fully working in your environment.

Method:

1. Open the Veeam Backup & Replication Console.
2. Select Backup Infrastructure on the bottom left menu.
3. Select the scale-out backup repository under Scale-out Repositories.
4. Right-click the performance extent and select Maintenance Mode.
5. To remove the extent from the maintenance mode, right-click the extent and select Maintenance mode once again.
